The Caligari Film Award, the CICAE Art Cinema Award and Ecumenical Jury Award, Berlinale 2022
Best New Director and Best Canadian Film, HotDocs (Toronto)

A sensorial hymn to the cyclical nature of life. Shot in 16mm and made using innovative eco-friendly film production techniques, Jacquelyn Mills' film - acclaimed at the Berlin Film Festival - takes us, in a playful and irreverent way, to discover the rich ecosystem of Sable Island and its "keeper” Zoe Lucas, a biologist and conservationist who has lived for over 40 years on this remote piece of land in the Atlantic Ocean.

Jacquelyn Mills is based in Montréal. Her works are immersive and sensorial, often exploring an intimate and lyrical connection to the natural world. Her film “IN The Waves” premiered at Visions du Réel and has received numerous awards. “GEOGRAPHIES Of Solitude” was supported by Sundance Documentary Fund and Cannes: Docs in Progress.
