Jennifer Peedom (Solo, Sherpa) ha realizzato un’incredibile sinfonia audiovisiva per raccontare al grande pubblico le scalate delle montagne più impervie, le imprese impossibili di climbers e acrobati sulle vette più remote, attraverso una emozionante sequenza di scene mozzafiato, selezionate a partire da più di 2000 ore di riprese girate in 15 paesi diversi.

Un’opera suggestiva e intrigante, che si avvale dei testi dello scrittore e alpinista inglese Robert Macfarlane, della voce di Willem Dafoe e dell’accompagnamento musicale dell’Australian Chamber Orchestra, con parti composte appositamente da Richard Tognetti e celebri brani di Vivaldi, Beethoven e Arvo Pärt. Una riflessione su cosa la montagna rappresenti oggi per chi la vive e la ama.

Jennifer Peedom (Solo,Sherpa) has achieved an audio-visual tour de force. Through a series of astounding takes cut from more than 2000 hours of footage filmed in over 15 countries she shares the story of extraordinary mountain conquests and the unbelievable endeavours of climbers and acrobats on some of the remotest peaks. 

This evocative, involving film uses the voice of William Dafoe to narrate passages from the writings of English author and climber Robert MacFarlane. The film is accompanied by music from the Australian Chamber Orchestra performing especially composed pieces by Richard Tognetti and famous strains of music by Vivaldi, Beethoven and Arvo Pärt.

Queste relazioni l’hanno portata a gira-re il film Sherpa, vincitore di numerosi e prestigiosi premi.

Born in Australia Jennifer is famous for her intimate andtouching portrayals of extraordinary moments rangingfrom the epic to the quotidian. She is an expert climber and has worked as high-altitude film director on nume-rous expeditions. During her many years spent working in the Himalayas she built up a firm friendship with the Sherpa people. This relationship led Jennifer to make the film Sherpa, which has won many prestigious awards.
