ALEXANDRA PETROVA

Alexandra Petrova was born in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1988. She studied European Studies at “St. Kliment Ohridski” Sofia University and later specialized in European projects for culture and art collaboration between institutions. She is a general manager and programmer director of The International Mountain Film Festival in Bansko. The largest mountain and extreme film festival in Bulgaria was established in 1998 by her parents, and held in Bansko city – ski centre and a place in the heart of Pirin mountain, with an old culture and mountain history. Alexandra is now responsible for the film selection (competition and non-competition) of the festival and the full programme of guests, lectures, exhibitions and various events. Currently she is also working on different projects about mountain film culture, adventure and nature such as Adventure Kids Festival in Sofia, Summer mountain cinema under the stars in Sofia and other cities, Bansko Film Fest on tour, special panorama events to celebrate the anniversaries of important mountaineering occurrences in addition to conferences on Adventure medicine. 

LEONARDO BARRILE

Born in 1979, Leonardo Barrile graduated from DAMS in Palermo and obtained a master’s degree in history and film and television languages ​​at the University of Padua.

He worked as Executive Producer and Head of Distribution at Albatross Entertainment SPA, one of the leading Italian and European companies in the production and distribution of drama content. In 2014, he founded Samarcanda Film (of which he is CEO and responsible for international development), for which he produced the doc-series “Kapp to Cape” and “Angeli del Mare”. With Rai Cinema and Feltrinelli Real Cinema, he co- produced “Paolo Cognetti. Dreams of the Great North”, documentary directed by Dario Acocella and the series “World’s Most Dangerous Borders”. He also co-produced the feature documentaries “Il Sogno e la Violenza” by Daniele Gaglianone and “Daniel Pennac : Ho Visto Maradona ” by Ximo Solano, with Daniel Pennac. In 2022, he took part in the international workshop Emerging Producers 2022, the programme reserved for the best European producers organized by Ji-Hlava International Documentar

MAURIZIO “MANOLO” ZANOLLA

Born in Feltre in 1959, Maurizio “Manolo” Zanolla is an Italian climber, mountaineer and guide. Nicknamed “Il Mago” (“The Magician”), he is one of the pioneers of free climbing and one of the best known faces of this sport in our country. The first Italian to climb an 8b at Ultimo Movimento (Pale di San Martino, 1986), he free soloed up to 8a at Masala Dosa (San Silvestro crag, 1992). He lives his passion in a personal, philosophical and romantic way, having never wanted to participate in competitions. As an author, he has written Nelle Pale di San Martino. Scalate scelte: Canali-Fradusta, Tognazza, Totoga (Zanichelli, 1983), (Artigianelli, 1998) , Appigli ridicoli. Arrampicare nel Primiero (Artigianelli, 1998), In bilico… fra la storia e i racconti delle vie nelle falesie del Primiero (Osteria Taci cavallo Editing, 2013) and Eravamo immortali (Fabbri, 2018). He is the protagonist and co-author of the film Verticalmente démodé by Davide Carrari, winner of the Genziana d’oro for the best mountaineering or mountain film, the City of Imola Award and the Mario Bello Award at the Trento Film Festival 2012.

Thierry Vuillermoz

Nato ad Aosta nel ’92, Thierry Vuillermoz eredita dal papà la passione per le montagne e la fotografia. Laureato in fotografia nel 2011 presso l’accademia d’arte di Firenze, avvia la propria attività di fotografo l’anno successivo. Attualmente, gestisce anche un negozio di sport. Assiduo frequentatore della montagna in tutte le stagioni e quote, ma con un amore particolare per lo scialpinismo, da 25 anni è socio del Cai di Chatillon, di cui è anche consigliere e responsabile della commissione alpinismo.

Monica Brenga

Monica Brenga, architetto, lavora da oltre 20 anni nell’ambito delle aree protette, occupandosi della costruzione e del coordinamento di progetti volti alla conservazione di patrimonio ambientali, naturalistici e culturali. 

Dal 2017 è componente della Struttura Operativa Centro di Cinematografia e Cineteca del Club Alpino Italiano, in rappresentanza del quale opera come giurata in diversi Festival cinematografici.

Ezio Marlier

Nato e cresciuto in Valle d’Aosta, Ezio Marlier è guida alpina, atleta ed alpinista. Maestro della piolet traction, da un trentennio è un punto di riferimento dell’arrampicata moderna su ghiaccio e misto. Ha aperto vie sulle montagne di tutto il mondo, anche se il Monte Bianco e le Alpi restano il suo terreno principale. La sua specialità è l’arrampicata su ghiaccio e misto, ma pratica anche arrampicata sportiva su ottimi livelli e, grazie al mestiere di guida alpina, vive quotidianamente la montagna. È il presidente delle Guide Alpine Valdostane.
