Two mountain women looking at the world of mountaineering from a gender perspective. Who were and who are female mountaineers? How did they make their way in an environment considered mostly male? Between memories of ascents, daily life and encounters with other women driven by the same passion for heights, a conversation about how women have changed and are changing mountaineering and the world as a whole.

Linda Cottino, journalist, expert mountaineer, edited the magazine "Alp," edits the book column for the CAI magazine "Montagne360" and collaborates with numerous publishing houses. Mountaineering is a Whole World. Conversazione a carte scoperte (Club Alpino Italiano, 2022), born from a dense epistolary with mountaineer Silvia Metzeltin, represents another important piece of the history of women in mountaineering.

Anna Torretta, born in Turin in 1971, lived in Innsbruck where she founded the women's mountaineering school Avventura Donna. She has lived in Courmayeur with her husband and two daughters since 2004 and works as a guide for the Society of Alpine Guides. She is a multiple Italian champion and vice world champion in ice climbing. From the roof of my house I see the world. Reflections of a Woman Mountain Guide for Her Daughters on the Importance of Cultivating One's Dreams (Corbaccio, 2023) is a slice of family life and a declaration of love for the mountains and what they have to teach us.
