With some surprise readings by Giuseppe Cederna
Mountain wines are often called "heroic," to emphasize the commitment and passion with which high-altitude vintners challenge environmental difficulties to offer a product of excellence, which in Valle d'Aosta, boasts a millennial tradition, rich in native grape varieties and history, that finds its purest expression in the production of artisanal wines, made from organic grapes, by spontaneous fermentation of the must, without the addition of other substances and without resorting to invasive procedures.
Edoardo Raspelli, the historical face of food and wine journalism, host for twenty-one years of the successful Canale 5 program "Mela Verde," will lead us to discover the oenological wonders of our territory, in the company of researcher and winemaker Giulio Moriondo (ViniRari), an indispensable point of reference for the region's wine culture, and Ilaria Bavastro, whose winery Le Vieux Joseph represents one of the most successful examples of (new) "heroic" production in Valle d'Aosta.
Actor Giuseppe Cederna, will accompany their reflections with some thematic readings.
The matinee is organized in collaboration with La Vague des vins edition 2023, a food and wine tasting event-scheduled for Sunday, August 6, from 10:30 a.m. in the Piazza Carrel of the charming village of Cretaz-that has become over the years a true showcase for vignerons, an opportunity to propose the tasting of local wines, traditional, artisanal, children of the vintage and free of additives.
