LA LINEA NEL DESERTO

con Max Calderan

e Anteprima Internazionale del film:

INTO THE LOST DESERT di Christopher Cassel (Stati Uniti, 2021, 75’)

Max Calderan is the “king of the desert”: the extreme explorer who has crossed some of the most inhospitable and impassable environments in the world, surviving on his own, dependent solely on the supplies he carries, with no medical assistance and with sleeping rationed to micro cycles, all at temperatures that can exceed 58 °C. In 2020, he entered into the annals of exploration history by being the rst person to cross the world’s greatest sand desert il Rub’ al Khali in Saudi Arabia on foot, traversing 1,100 km of previously untouched sand to inaugurate the “Calderan Line”, now visible on geography maps of Arabia. In honour of this event, Max will speak to the audience at CCM about his experience of this legendary place, shrouded in mystery, while retracing his extraordinary journey to the limits of human endurance.
