Luigi Bombardieri, animato dall’amore per l’alpinismo e dai valori del CAI, immaginò di utilizzare gli elicotteri per i soccorsi in montagna. Mezzo secolo dopo la sua morte, Maurizio Folini, guida alpina e pilota, porta fino in Nepal quella straordinaria intuizione.

Luigi Bombardieri, inspired by his love of mountaineering and by the values of the Club Alpino Italiano organisation (CAI), thought up an ingenious way of using helicopters to carry out alpine rescue operations. Half a century after his death, the mountain guide and pilot Maurizio Folini brought this brilliant technique to Nepal.
Gianluca Maspes (1972) is a mountain guide who also manages a mountain refuge, he is a web communications expert and a mountaineering historian.
